philippians 4:18-20

at the moment I have all I need and more !

I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me with epaphroditus.

they are a sweet smelling sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing to God.

and this same God who takes care of me will supply your needs according to His glorious riches which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

now all glory to God our father forever and ever !

amen

🙂

it is true that if you have Jesus living in your heart you possess everything you need in this life and beyond.

now you may not have enough food to make the next meal you will need to keep yourself from starvation but in the scheme of things that matters less than the fact that you have a glorious home waiting for you in heaven which is guaranteed yours as long as you maintain a state of sinless perfection.

those who think this is impossible to obtain are also chained to the lie that there are some sins which God finds impossible to forgive which simply isn’t true.

excepting of course the unforgivable sin which is grieving the Holy Spirit.

it is my understanding that this involves completely rejecting any possibility of God or acting in a debased and hedonistic manner mocking God as if His grace gives you a blank cheque to sin incessantly with no remorse.

may our lives smell sweet to the nostrils of our maker and not a pungent stench.

Jesus’ death on the cross becomes for us like a credit card with no limit on how much we can purchase providing of course that the things we desire for ourselves align with His will.

it is rare that He will provide the opportunity to go on a spending spree and shop til we drop but as for the basic every day needs of food and shelter, clothing and fresh clean water for drinking , bathing and ablutions God has given us more than adequate supply all around us.

yes some of us may have to travel a little further than others for our water.

that is why God needs those with plenty to help supply the needs of those who lack.

or else their blood is literally on our hands if God gives us a means to meet a need and we turn a blind eye at the sight of their suffering souls.

may our lives ever echo the strains of this last verse and bring glory to our creator and loving saviour in everything we do or say.

may God provide for the needs of everyone in the world so we never suffer lack or hunger.

may He guide us to be wise in our budgeting and not spend money we don’t have so we don’t get ourselves in debt up to our eyeballs and drown in a sea of unpaid bills.

remember when your situation seems impossible God has the final say on the matter.

when He says yes nobody can say no.

what He promises He is faithful to bring into completion.

those who give to the poor lend to the Lord.

the Lord stores up the wealth of the wicked for the righteous.

God rewards those with a diligent attitude and a good work ethic.

God loves a cheerful giver.

do not give with one hand wishing you could pull it back with the other.

do not doubt for one moment that God is able to supply all your needs.

nothing is impossible for Him.

peace and prosperity shall be yours in Jesus name.

He will not see the righteous forsaken nor HIs young ones begging for bread.

may we be faithful in helping out our friends in their hour of desperation and allow God to continually prove His faithfulness to us by filling to abundance the storehouses of the generous.

does God give out of obligation or a sense of duty that binds Him to magnanimousness ?

no it is part of His nature to share and sacrifice to give when it hurts for He gave the greatest gift when He sacrificed His son to save humanity.

He displays no evidence of regretting that decision or to offer Him up begrudgingly but He counted it all joy knowing the result- the ginormous harvest of souls His death on the cross would produce.

let us be good stewards of the resources God has given us.

let us walk in a benevolent spirit trusting that God hasn’t failed us yet and isn’t about to anytime soon !
