then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens it has come at last salvation and power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ.
for the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth the one who accuses them before our God day and night.
and they have defeated him by the blood of the lamb and by their testimony.
and they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.
therefore rejoice o heavens!
and you who live in the heavens rejoice!
but terror will come on the earth and the sea for the devil has come down to you in great anger knowing that he has little time.
God’s kingdom has come to us in the form of Jesus already but this passage refers to the moment when heaven ultimately invades earth and God starts over with a brand new world.
Christ the Holy Spirit and God always act on each others authority .
they never operate autonomously or independently but are interdependent on one another not codependent.
all three elements of the trinity bring something unique to the table and all equally contribute towards the whole three in one beings harmony.
it is easy to forget this truth but whenever anyone accuses people who believe in Jesus it is not them who is actually doing the speaking exclusively but the devil using them as tools puppets and pawns bent to his twisted will.
he has been thrown from earth to heaven which is his present state of existence so he can wreak havoc while he is here on this planet but his future destination is total annihilation and complete and utter destruction in the lake of fire he plans to send us to but will not succeed so long as we stay within submission to Christ’s rightful authority over our lives.
when we live as proof of God changing our lives by altering the way we act and react we are winning victories over the devil and stomping on his head.
God has given us authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the powers of the enemy that rise up against us attempting to trip us up and pull us off the righteous path.
this passage is not saying that we should so remove ourselves from the natural state of being human or even that it is possible for us to be in a place where we no longer experience unholy fear but when we do we should not be afraid or allow our fear to force us to shy away from sharing the gospel for fear of losing our lives for in the loss of our lives we gain access to a greater country, a world beyond our own where there is no need for sun, moon or stars, where pain and evil cannot enter or control anything happening around God’s throne room or in His house which has limitless rooms more than the final number of pi , wider than the genetic code of d.n.a stretched on clear display from end to end represented in banner form.
we are warned of terror coming on the earth and the sea .
Just as those in heaven rejoice we rejoice with them and join in their celebrations over every sinner who receives salvation and every victory Christ has gained and is gaining over the enemy.
we who are faithful to Jesus are referred to later in this chapter as being children of the woman.
this woman is never mentioned by name.
her name isn’t important as is the necessity for us to cling to Gods truth.
we are warned later in the chapter that the dragon or the devil will try to destroy the seed of the woman but God preserves the lives of them both by safeguarding her from the claws of the dragon in the wilderness for a period of time.
we are told earlier in the chapter that her child a male shall rule all nations with an iron rod.
in the course of our history there has never been a ruler no matter how great who has been capable of bringing every country into submission under his leadership.
as far as we know and I do believe it to be the case only Christ is capable of accomplishing this.
speculating over the identity of the woman and her child isn’t as crucial for us as keeping our lives pure and blameless before the Lord.
one can haphazard a guess that it is mary and Jesus but I will not set that opinion in stone as I cant prove it from the text.
let your life be continually used for Gods glory.
know what God’s word says for yourself don’t let somebody else interpret what it means for you or tell you what it says.
you must hide it in your heart as a handy dandy weapon against the enemy available at all times for recalling in your memory when you need it the most during those moments when you are the most tired and vulnerable and prone to attack.
remember the weapons of our warfare are not carnal fleshly or of the world but they are strong for the pulling down of strongholds and taking the state of spiritual captivity captive conquering all demon armies in the mighty name of Jesus .
